COURSES TO BE OFFERED IN
2007-2008
Understanding the legislative framework
underpinning equality and diversity in the UK
Recent legal changes require public authorities and private, voluntary
and community organisations to develop and implement equality schemes for their
organisations.
Building strength and capacity within diverse
communities
Community development is becoming an integrated pillar of national
and regional policy and practice. How can we ensure that all communities engage
with these changes on an equal footing? This course offers both a critical
exploration of relevant issues, and the opportunity to develop an action plan.
An introduction to developing and implementing
policies for corporate social responsibility
Organisations are increasingly required to develop policies for
corporate social responsibility. This course offers a critical understanding of
the concepts and theories underpinning CSR, and assistance in development and
implementation of such policies.
Navigating cultural transition and dislocation
What are the effects of global migration on behaviour? And how are
these effects evidenced in psychological and social change? This course
explores the immigrant/refugee experience to develop practical models for integration and assistance.
