PROGRAMME FOR DECEMBER 2008

“Shared Stories of the Abrahamic Faiths”

Monthly study groups open to all,
running throughout Suffolk from 6:00pm to 7:15pm

Each session will include an introduction to topics and texts from the Qur’an and Bible led by a Jew, a Muslim and a Christian, followed by general discussion.  This is a great opportunity to share perspectives and deepen understanding.

Please let us know soon if you would like to join any of these groups, as space may be limited in some venues.  The only cost will be the registration fee which is £5.00 (£3.00 concessionary).

We plan to pilot a similar course based on the Indic Religions next term.  Please let us know if you are interested in joining.

SIFRE’S LENDING LIBRARY

SIFRE’s extensive collection of books on the faiths and faith issues has recently been complimented with a large collection of Christian theological books previously housed in the Suffolk College Library.  The Lending Library is available for use by anyone provided that they first complete a Registration Form.  Registered users can either use books within the SIFRE Centre or they can loan them to use elsewhere.  To take a book out on loan, you will be asked to enter your full name and telephone number in the Library Loan Book together with the full name and author of the book and the date of the start of the loan.  The period of any loan should not exceed 14 days but loans can be extended by visiting the Centre, by telephone (01473 343661) or by email (aa@sifre.org.uk) .  Not more than 6 books can be loaned by any one person at any one time.  The Centre is normally open from 9:30am to 4:30pm (closed 12:30pm to 1:30pm for lunch).  If you wish to use the library please phone 01473 343661 to make an appointment.
